To provide fundamental knowledge of poultry nutrition, to introduce feed ingredients commonly used in poultry feeding, to teach the principles of nutrition for different poultry species, to develop skills in formulating rations using the trial-and-error method and preparing species-specific diets, and to enhance problem-solving abilities related to poultry feeding and nutrition management.
This course covers the importance of poultry nutrition and poultry products, feed ingredients and feed additives used in poultry feeding, nutritional management principles of commercial layers and breeder flocks, commercial broilers and broiler breeders, commercial turkeys and turkey breeders, as well as geese, ducks, other cage birds, and ostriches. The course also includes species-specific ration formulation and the development of problem-solving skills related to poultry nutrition and feeding management.
