Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide knowledge about the historical development of compound feed and feed technology; to teach the principles of planning and feasibility studies for compound feed plants; to explain the operating principles of feed manufacturing processes, including raw material reception, storage, grinding, mixing, pelleting, cooling, and packaging; to introduce quality control and quality assurance practices in compound feed production; and to develop an understanding of the importance of feed microbiology in relation to feed quality and animal health.

Course Content

This course covers the importance of compound feed and its advantages in livestock enterprises, the characteristics of compound feed production processes (including raw material receiving, weighing, grinding, mixing, pelleting or other thermal processing technologies, cooling, and packaging), and provides knowledge on quality and quality criteria in compound feeds.
