The aim of this course is to introduce students to the fundamental concepts, professional scope, historical development, and application processes of Landscape Architecture. The course addresses the natural and cultural components of landscapes, space–environment relationships, landscape planning and design processes, and the professional fields of landscape architects at different scales. In addition, the course aims to help students understand the role of landscape architecture in environmental protection, landscape management, landscape restoration, and design applications.
his course covers the concept of landscape, natural and cultural processes shaping landscapes, and the definition, scope, and historical development of Landscape Architecture. The course examines landscape architecture education, concepts of space and architecture, environmental protection, and landscape management studies. In addition, landscape planning and design processes, professional practice areas of landscape architects, project types, concept and implementation projects, as well as planting and detailed application projects are evaluated through practical examples. Midterm evaluation consists of class participation/performance, assignment work, and a midterm exam, accounting for a total of 40%. The end-of-term evaluation is conducted through the final exam (60%). Students repeating the course are required to complete all assignments, class participation/performance activities, and examinations again within the scope of the current assessment and evaluation structure of the course.
