The aim of this course is to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge of visual effects (VFX) production processes and to develop competencies in digital compositing, motion tracking, chroma keying, particle systems, 3D integration, and cinematic visual effects production techniques. At the end of the course, students are expected to produce creative and technically competent visual effects projects at a professional standard.
Historical development of visual effects, VFX production pipeline, digital compositing, color correction, motion tracking, rotoscoping, keying techniques, particle and simulation systems, integration of 3D objects with live-action footage, matte painting, virtual production, and AI-assisted visual effects applications through theoretical and practical studies.
| 1. | Explain the historical development and fundamental concepts of visual effects. |
| 2. | Analyze the visual effects production pipeline and workflow. |
| 3. | Apply digital compositing and layer-based workflows. |
| 4. | Use motion tracking, rotoscoping, and keying techniques. |
| 5. | Integrate 2D and 3D elements to create visual effects. |
| 6. | Apply particle systems and simulation techniques. |
| 7. | Make aesthetic and technical decisions in visual effects projects. |
| 8. | Design and present a short VFX project at a professional level. |
