Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to develop the multi-dimensional perception, thinking and design skills of visual communication design students, while providing them with fundamental design concepts at both theoretical and applied levels. Students are expected to transform abstract and concrete concepts into creative thinking and into quality works that support an inclusive and equitable vision of society. While laying the foundations of visual literacy, the course encourages responsible production and environmentally conscious aesthetic approaches.

Course Content

This course introduces visual communication design students to fundamental design concepts — including line, shape, composition, balance, hierarchy and contrast — at both theoretical and applied levels. Supported by studio projects and photography assignments, the course aims to develop visual literacy, creative thinking and an environmentally conscious approach to design.

Name of Lecturer(s)
Learning Outcomes
1.Effectively uses design concepts and makes them operational within a theoretical context.
2.Selects high-technology products and equipment comfortably and consciously with the knowledge and background acquired.
3.Reinforces theoretical design contexts through studio work and individual assignment activities.
4.Reinforces applied design contexts through studio work and individual assignment activities.
5.Acquires basic visual literacy skills and applies them in their designs.
