Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to teach students basic academic drawing methods and to develop drawing skills based on observation skills. Within the scope of Program Outcomes 1 and 2; it aims to provide competencies in visual production skills (PO3), material recognition (PO4), and visual literacy (PO8).

Course Content

In this course, students will learn how to draw real model and objects onto paper.

1.Applies basic drawing techniques at academic standards through the relationship between line and form.
2.Transfers three-dimensional objects onto a two-dimensional surface in accordance with basic perspective rules.
3.Analyzes the technical and aesthetic characteristics of different drawing materials (charcoal, graphite pencil, etc.).
4.Establishes proportion and compositional balance in live model and object drawings.
5.Evaluates their own artistic development and the works produced throughout the semester with a critical perspective within a portfolio discipline.
