The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the role of nutrition in the development and treatment of various diseases, and to equip them with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in planning appropriate diets in accordance with the principles of disease-specific medical nutritional therapy.
The importance of medical nutritional therapy lies in the treatment of obesity, eating disorders, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic syndrome, gastrointestinal disorders, cancer, and bone marrow transplantation.

| 1. | This course describes the etiology, clinical findings, complications, and interaction of nutrition with acute and chronic diseases related to nutrition in adult individuals. |
| 2. | This section evaluates the fundamental principles, steps, and importance of medical nutritional therapy in the prevention and treatment of diseases. |
| 3. | It assesses patients' nutritional status and calculates disease-specific energy and nutrient requirements. |
| 4. | Plans nutritional education and counseling for the patient, taking into account the clinical diagnosis, biochemical findings and sociocultural characteristics of the individual. |
