Objectives of the Course

To teach heavy metals, caused by pollution, its effects on plants, minerals, their roles in plant development

Course Content

The presence and sources of heavy metals in nature, heavy metal contamination in terrestrial ecosystems, heavy metal uptake by plants, accumulation of heavy metals in plant organs and toxic effects, heavy metal tolerance mechanisms in plants, indicator plants based on heavy metals, determination of plants to be used in monitoring studies, minerals and their importance for plants, seed coating methods with minerals, vermicompost production techniques.
