Objectives of the Course

This course covers topics designed to help students understand legal relationships in the tourism sector, the responsibilities of travel agencies and tour operators, tourism contracts, package tour practices, consumer rights, situations involving defective services, complaint and appeal procedures, insurance and guarantee processes, consumer rights in the digital environment, and ethical and legal responsibilities in tourism services.

Course Content

This course covers the legal relationships arising in the tourism sector, the responsibilities of travel agencies and tour operators, tourism contracts, package tour practices, consumer rights, cases of defective services, cancellation and refund procedures, consumer complaint and appeal processes, insurance practices, the protection of personal data, and fundamental issues related to consumer rights in the digital environment.

Learning Outcomes
1.Explains the basic concepts related to tourism law, consumer rights, tourism contracts, and travel agency regulations.
2.Evaluates the legal relationships between travel agencies, tour operators, accommodation providers, transportation companies, and consumers.
3.Interprets the rights and obligations of the parties in package tour contracts, accommodation, transportation, reservations, and tour services.
4.It explains the procedures and resolution methods for situations such as defective services, cancellations, refunds, changes, delays, overbooking, and consumer complaints.
5.It provides a basic assessment of ethical conduct in tourism services, consumer satisfaction, protection of personal data, digital consumer rights, and legal liability.
