Objectives of the Course

To know the source of 18th century enlightenment thought and to realize its importance in the history of philosophy.

Course Content

Within the framework of the British Enlightenment, the French Enlightenment and the German Enlightenment, the Enlightenment ideas of the 18th century are analyzed.

1.Realizes what the Enlightenment thought is and the conditions that prepared it.
2.sees the relationship between phenomena such as enlightenment, reason, freedom and science.
3.With the criticisms of Romanticism, they can approach the idea of enlightenment critically.
4.Learns and evaluates the Enlightenment understanding of reason and political thought.
5.Recognizes the enlightenment sources of contemporary thought.
