Objectives of the Course

Giving scientific, actuel and practical information about large farm animal production

Course Content

This course provides scientific, current, and practical information on the state of cattle, buffalo, and camel breeding in the world and in Turkey; cattle breeds; reproduction and fertility in cattle; calf rearing; care and management of young breeding animals; udder system and lactation; body condition scoring; machine milking and mastitis; meat production from cattle; and buffalo and camel breeding.

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to apprehend the importance of cattle, buffaloe and camel in human nutrition
2.To be able to identify cattle breeds raised in Turkey and compare their basic characteristics.
3.Ability to evaluate fertility in cattle and interpret the factors affecting fertility.
4.Ability to plan calf rearing and young breeding practices.
5.Ability to evaluate key breeding and management factors affecting milk and meat production.
