To provide students with the fundamental principles of engineering design and develop their ability to create innovative, sustainable, economical, and practical solutions for problems encountered in dairy technology. Students will design dairy processing systems, select appropriate equipment, develop new dairy products, and consider quality, food safety, and sustainability in engineering design.
This course introduces the principles of engineering design, including problem identification, design criteria, creative solution development, and project management. Students will prepare engineering design projects related to dairy processing plants, dairy production systems, equipment selection, hygienic design, energy efficiency, quality control, sustainable production, and new dairy product development.
| 1. | Explains the engineering design process in dairy technology. |
| 2. | Develops design solutions for dairy processing systems. |
| 3. | Applies engineering criteria in equipment and process selection. |
| 4. | Integrates quality, food safety, and sustainability into engineering design. |
| 5. | Plans and presents an engineering design project for a dairy technology problem. |
