
Aydın Adnan Menderes University was established in 1992 on acceptance of the amendment of Law No. 41 of Decision No: 3837 dated 03.07.1992 concerning the Governance of Higher Education Institutions along with the amendment of Decisions 78 and 190 of Law No. 2809.
ADU was founded with 5 faculties (the Faculty of Arts and Science, Nazilli Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Agriculture), 3 Graduate Schools; the School of Tourism and Hotel Management and Söke Vocational School. Our University has become a Higher Education Institute which gives education in a total of 77 different academic units: in 21 Faculties, 3 Graduate Schools, 1 State Conservatory, 1 School, 19 Vocational Schools and 32 Research and Application Centres.
The main aims of ADU are to bring up young individuals who have fully adopted secular and democratic values in line with Atatürk’s principles; who can do research, ask questions and discuss; create solutions based on reason and science; assume a rational approach in all areas from production to administration; safeguard national values; contribute to Turkish civilization and are highly qualified people of the information age.
